Competition Rules and Guidelines
Welcome to the arena.
To keep the competition tight, fair, and fun for everyone involved, please play by the following guidelines:
1. Submitting Your Tips
The Deadline: All tips must be locked in prior to the scheduled bounce-down for each individual match.
The Forgotten Tip: If you miss the deadline, the system will automatically assign you, the away team Don’t leave it to the last minute!
Visibility: Tips will become visible to all competitors once the match starts
Scoring System
Winners: Score [1 point] for every correct match winner selected.
Margins: Weekly margins will be tracked for the opening game of each round / the Thursday/Friday night game]. Getting closest to the actual point differential decides the weekly tie-breaker.
Draws: In the event of a draw 1 point is given to all players.
The Stakes & Prizes
The Crown: The ultimate winner at the end of the home-and-away season takes home the perpetual trophy / bragging rights / cash pool.
Weekly Glory: We also track weekly winners to keep everyone in the hunt right up until Round 24.
The Code of Conduct (Banter Policy)
- Friendly Fire Encouraged: Sledge responsibly. Group chat banter regarding terrible tipping choices, heartbreaking missed goals, and premature celebrations is heavily encouraged.
Umpire Blaming: Blaming the umpires for a ruined tip is universally accepted and spiritually required.
Adrian’s Word: In the rare event of a dispute, technical glitch, or controversial rule interpretation, my decision is final (and completely open to bribery).
Survivor Competition Rules
Wooden Spoon & Spooner's Curse Rules
1. Who Holds the Spoon?
Whichever participant is sitting in dead last on the official tipping ladder (lowest points, or tied on points with highest cumulative margin prediction error) is crowned the weekly Wooden Spoon Holder.
2. The “Spooner’s Curse” Badge
The reigning spoon holder carries the Spooner’s Curse badge across the main ladder, matrix, and profile until they earn enough points to overtake the player above them.
3. Banter Forfeits & The Wheel of Misfortune
Each week, the Wheel of Misfortune can be spun to assign a friendly banter forfeit (coffee shout, pie tax, audio confession, or custom family dare) to keep the bottom-dwellers laughing and fighting hard to climb out!
4. End of Season Crown
Whoever finishes Round 24 in dead last is awarded the permanent Adys Tipping 2027 Wooden Spoon Trophy at the grand final get-together.
